Please Help Our Vets- They Have Helped Us By Putting Their Lives at Stake!
Veteran's Outreach is a 501 (c) 3 . . .a real non-profit organization that helps veterans and their families when times get times. It is non-sectorial, we help when disabled or down on their luck vets cant pay rent, bills, feed their families. We write the checks directly to who they need financial with- as in electric companies, landlords, medical bills, food gift cards, etc . . . after they show us either a DD214 or their veterans I.D. card, an I.D card and provide us with their name and and Soc Sec #. And we don't say "No".
The reps who go out and collect for hours on end do it from their hearts. Eighteen cents a mile for mile for travel as opposed to 50 Plus cents that for profit workers make. The CEO? He takes home less tham 49K a year. Me? I am the event coordinator. And yes- if you own a business or manage a store think about letting our reps sit at a table and quietly collect donations. I put in a lot of hours and hard work for minimum wage - some weeks I don't even take the hours I have worked. And the Sarasota office administrator? He is one of the best people I know. Dedicated. A really GOOD man! Thru 45 rounds of radiation therapy- he didn't miss a day of going out to find venues, and he sat in miserable weather to put in his days collecting. The person who is responsible for keeping trck of the money brought in drives up to Sarasota from Ft. Myers twice a week for very little pay. But we are dedicated to not only making this work- but to expanding our venues.
Just FYI- 87% of what we make in donations goes to helping the Vets. The rest is low cost company overhead. Rent, utilities, salaries, supplies to run the office. One of the reasons we work from home three days a week.
We help Veterans in Bradenton and Sarasota and Ft. Myers. Okeechobeem Avon Park, Clearwater, too. From Arcadia to Zephryhills . . .the towns are we have helped in and the people are too many to count.
I want to get the word out that there is a new way to help. It is called Text to Donate. Donations show up on your phone bill. They are tax free.
Please- we need your help. The veteran's are responsible for our freedom- and the ones we help thankfully didn't pay with their lives. But they could have.
I don't want to push. check out our website and then make your decision: www.veteransoutreach.com.
For a $10.00 donation simply text Vet to 52000.
For a $5.00 donation- just text Hero to 52000.
Thank you in advance for your generousity.
And remember . . .we need to spread the word to other counties and towns. We need venues (stores, concerts, events- so if you've got one or manage one? Let us know at 941-755-1305. And if you live in Pinellas County? We need reps! And north of Pinellas. Same phone #.
If you are a company or a person who wants to make any size donation- let us know at the # above. If you need the paperwork to prove we are certified as a non-profit in the State of FL? We can provide it.
Anything helps. Pennies add up. And if you are a veteran who needs help- just call us at the same #. We will do what what we can.
Very sincerely yours-
Linda Albrecht Ahuna
