5 Places to Celebrate St. Patrick's Day in Brandon
From $1 mugs of green beer to Irish step dancers, there are plenty of celebrations, Irish style, to celebrate St. Patrick's Day all weekend.
When will you get the chance again soon to wash down a plate of corned beef and cabbage with a mug of green beer?
Brandon is putting on the Irish this weekend with a slew of green celebrations at pubs, bars and restaurants.
From live music to Guinness beer on tap, let's take a look at 5 places to celebrate St. Patrick's Day.
1.) O'Brien's Irish Pub, 701 West Lumsden Road: O'Brien's is billing their celebration as an "epic event under the tent." It starts at 11 a.m. on Sunday. Patrons will enjoy live music from the Irish Ramblers. Step dancers will perform in the afternoon and again in the early evening. O'Brien's will offer 25 percent off food for all seniors, police, military and firefighters (with valid ID). The place gets packed every year, which is great for those looking to party. If you're looking for a low-key event, this isn't it.
2.) O'Toole's Irish Pub, 1215 W Brandon Blvd., is also hosting a
tent party starting at 11 a.m. Sunday. Yummy corned beef and cabbage are on the menu. Of courrse, there will be live music and Irish dancers. Bully for You performs at 7 p.m. The Tampa Bay Pipe and Drum Band will also perform.
3.) Tadpoles, 115 E. Brandon Blvd., starts early. It hosts a parking lot party beginning at 1 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday. There will be live music all day and plenty of food and drink.
4.) The Original Beef O'Brady's, 210 S Kings Ave., has a great deal with $1 green beers, as well as corned beef and cabbage on Sunday. There is Irish-themed activities and entertainment for the entire family.
5.) Fox & Hounds, 229 E. Brandon Blvd., is putting on the green for St. Patrick's Day, Sunday. There are no gimmicks at this place, where patrons can order a bracing shot of fine Irish whiskey and also lift a perfect pint of Guinness.
