Durant's Perfect Season Record Celebrated on the Field, in the Stands

Excitement and focus on the field and in the stands built throughout the night Nov. 9 as the Durant High School Cougars faced the King High School Lions for the final game of the 2012 season. Durant now stakes claim to a perfect season.

The Durant High School Cougars made history Nov. 9 with the school's first perfect season, capped with a shutout win (31-0) against the King High School Lions.

Here's a look at life in the stands, on the field and from the sidelines at the game that cement's this moment in time for the Durant community.

The game was played at Ron Frost Stadium, named for the school's charter principal, who died from cancer a year after the school opened in Plant City.

The game was coached by Mike Gottman, who went 10-0 in his 10th year as head coach of the Cougars.

Next up for the District 7A-8 Cougars: the first round of playoffs, Nov. 16, at home against Tampa Bay Tech. Game time is 7:30 p.m.
