Lennard notes that the renewal is necessary because the general election in 2010 served as the expiration period for many "Vote By Mail" requests.

All registered voters are eligible to vote by mail, which affords them a chance to research their choices as they sit down to vote.

“We wanted to inform voters of the new law, and provide them with the opportunity to enjoy the comfort and convenience of [voting] by mail,” Lennard said in a news release.

Voting by mail, he added, allows voters to sit down with their ballots, “researching and studying the candidates or issues,” before casting their votes from home.
