Poll: Is Brandon a Sad-City Bright Spot?

Men's Health, using government figures, ranks St. Petersburg and Tampa among the four saddest cities in the nation. Is Brandon a bright spot? Take our poll, post your comments.

When it comes to unemployment and suicide rates, it seems the Tampa-St. Petersburg area leads the nation. At least, that’s according to a story recently released by Men’s Health Magazine.

St. Petersburg ranks as America’s saddest city in the report and Tampa came in a close fourth. The magazine used figures from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Bureau of Labor Statistics to arrive at its conclusions.

Recognizing that its "diagnosis is more statistical than psychological," the magazine reports its findings are based also on "SimplyMap for the percentage of households that use antidepressants as well as the number of people who report feeling the blues all or most of the time."
