Cold-Weather Shelters Opened Again (Feb. 11-12)

With temperatures forecast to drop into the upper 30s and lowers 40s, the cold-weather shelters in Hillsborough are set to open Feb. 11 and 12.

 

 

The cold weather shelter serving the Greater Brandon area is open this weekend, Feb. 11 and 12, for the homeless and for those who live in homes without adequate heat.

Overnight temperatures in the Tampa Bay area are expected to drop to the upper 30s and lower 40s.

As always, volunteers could use your help.

At the Brandon Community Center, 510 East Sadie St., volunteers are accepting donations of shelter supplies, including disinfectant wipes, disposable cups, coffee, creamer, paper plates, plastic utensils, and sugar.

Those wishing to donate supplies can contact the shelter at 813-635-8179.

The shelter opens at 5:30 p.m. and serves homeless individuals and families with children in the Brandon area.
