College coaches evaluate everything that potential recruits do. High school athletes need to make an effort to stay out of trouble, and to have proper communication and social networking skills. If an athlete is seen as a “risky” recruit, then they will be passed over on scholarship offers. Coaches don’t want to waste the scholarship money on them, nor do they want to deal with the headache of a trouble maker.
