Neighborhood Bistro Shuts Down

  • From Neighborhood Bistro — A small business with a unique flavor in Brandon, featuring French cuisine, has closed its doors after more than two years in business. The Neighborhood Bistro, which celebrated its grand opening in April 2011, is no longer in business at 905 East Brandon Blvd. A look at its Facebook page  shows it had a faithful following — and a lot of sad diners. "So sad y'all are not there," wrote one poster. "Did you move? Was that a bad spot to be in? We loved y'all!" Answered Neighborhood BistroL "Now, sadly we closed." And, "We will keep everyone posted if we do anything else. Thank you for all the support." News of the closing was posted Aug. 7. From Neighborhood Bistro: "We would like to thank everyone for the support you have given us in the last two years we enjoyed serving you as much as you enjoyed visiting us we will miss everyone greatly.... closing the doors was a sad thing for us but a fun adventure once again thank you from the ENTIRE Bistro family."

Weekend Dining Suggestions

  • From Square 1 Burgers — "This weekend, try our speciality Meatloaf Burger, an original recipe topped with onion rings, American Cheese and our homemade Meatloaf Sauce on a sesame seed bun. Comfort food to the extreme! Then, rinse it down with an Abita Beer. The Louisiana brewer is best known for its Purple Haze and Turbodog, named as Stuff Magazine's best beer made in America! Before you go, sweeten up with our delicious Double Chocolate Sundae, a brownie pie topped with Blue Bell ice cream and our famous chocolate sauce. Awesome."
  • From Panera Bread — "Traveling this summer? The Today Show and Fitness Magazine recommend stopping at Panera Bread for healthy meals on the road, like our Low-Fat Vegetarian Vegetable Soup with Pesto! See which of our other menu items made the top cut: http://fitm.ag/1cl3rsO."
  • From Taco Bus — "After-midnight munchies reminder: Taco Bus in Brandon is open 24 hours Thursday, Friday and Saturday for late-night service. Address: 301 South Faulkenburg Road."

MOSI Shark Week Special

  • From MOSI — "Shark Week Special - Get FREE admission to MOSI exhibits when you buy a Sea Monsters Revealed ticket! Take advantage of a Shark Week special! From Aug. 3 – 9, the first 50 people each day to purchase a ticket to Sea Monsters Revealed - in person - will receive free admission to MOSI-only exhibits. Some restrictions apply. Oh yeah, if you haven't seen Great White Shark in the IMAX Dome, check it out - Discovery Channel wishes it could have something this cool."
