5 Things To Know Today, Oct. 11

Good morning Brandon. It's Oct. 11 and here's what's happening.

1. Dine out and help a good cause tonight from 4-9 p.m. at , 829 Providence Rd., when the eatery hosts an event to benefit the Emergency Care Help Organization. Ten percent of your bill will be donated to ECHO (Emergency Care Help Organization of Brandon). ECHO Brandon is a food pantry and clothing assistance source for residents of the greater Brandon area who have experienced a recent emergency.  Since its inception in 1987, ECHO has provided food assistance and clothing assistance to more than 130,000 Brandon area residents, over half of whom were children. 2. There's a dinner and concert tonight at 5:15 p.m. to Benefit Brandon High Orchestra at , 1101 Victoria St. The meal will be catered by Carrabba's and will include chicken marsala, Caesar salad, pasta pomodoro, bread, beverage and dessert. The concert and meal will be served from 5:15-7:15 p.m. at the school cafeteria.  The student orchestra will perform at 7:45 p.m. in the auditorium; there is no additional admission fee. Tickets are $15.

3. Calling all green thumbs. Get over to the Seffner-Mango Branch Library, 410 North Kingsway Road, at 6:30 p.m. today for a session on wildflowers, native plants and ferns. Call: 813-273-3652.

4. Woman are sometimes wary of Mammogram screenings so why not involve a friend or two or three and make it a party

5. Today is "National It's My Party Day." And yes, you can cry if you want to. Just remember, you have to fight for the right to party.
