Cruise for Kids Motorcycle Run Planned for May 19

The Credit Union Cruise for Kids has raised more than $420,000 for local children's charities since its inception in 2004.

In the mood to take a cruise? If so, you might want to join hundreds of fellow motorcyclists Sunday, May 19 for the Tampa Chapter of Credit Unions's ninth annual Credit Union Cruise for Kids Motorcycle Poker Run.

The poker run registration will begin at 10 a.m. at Brandon Harley Davidson on State Road 60 in Brandon, with Uncle Mike’s Smokehouse serving breakfast at 9 a.m.

From there the ride will stop at Tampa Harley Davidson, Jim’s Harley Davidson in St. Pete and then on to the motorsports-themed restaurant at Quaker Steak and Lube in Pinellas Park where participants will draw their final two playing cards and join in the party featuring The Stormbringer Band, a 50/50 raffle, dozens of door prize baskets, emcee Party Patti, a Born To Ride motorcycle bike show and a trophy presentation for the motorcycle club with the most rider participants.

The event grand finale will be a drawing for two $5,000 Visa gift cards sponsored by Attorney Fran Haasch and Credit Union Remarketing Services of Valrico.

The Credit Union Cruise for Kids has raised more than $420,000 for local children's charities since its inception in 2004, including All Children’s Hospital, Boys & Girls Clubs of Tampa Bay and Hernando, Voices for Children, Clothes To Kids, Oasis, Make a Wish, The Children’s Home, For Every Child and Metropolitan Ministries.

“The Tampa Bay motorcycle community, no matter a cruiser or a sport biker, are by far some of the most caring and giving citizens of our community," said event chair Sharmon Lenth. "We have been honored over the past eight years that more and more of our community’s motorcyclists join our ride and support in a big way the kids of Tampa Bay."
