'Florida-Friendly' Landscapes Sought for Tampa Bay Water Contest

Tampa Bay Water again seeks photographs and descriptions of impressive water-efficient landscapes for this year's round of Community Water-Wise Award recipients.

Tampa Bay Water officials want to recognize again individuals and companies for efforts to create and maintain landscapes that look good and use water efficiently.

Applications for the 14th Annual Community Water-Wise Awards program will be accepted throug June 30.

  • Applicants from Tampa Bay Water's coverage area (see below) should fill out an online application. Needed, too, are brief descriptions and photographs of the landscapes to be considered.

According to water officials, landscapes that are recognized represent "the beatuy and resiliency of our natural environment." They are maintained by people committed to conserving water resources and to protecting the environment. Winning landscapers use "the best in attractive, 'Florida-Friendly Landscaping' as well as irrigation systems or techniques that minimize water waste."
