Greater Brandon's American Idol Hopeful Advances to Top 24

It's a Top 24 call for Jeremy Rosado of Valrico, a graduate of Durant High and a student at Hillsborough Community College.

Score another one for Greater Brandon pride as Jeremy Rosado advanced in tonight's American Idol contest.

Following the judges' votes Feb. 23, the Durant High School graduate and Hillsborough Community College student is one step closer to his Idol dream.

"When you sang, it was transcendental," judge Jennifer Lopez told the 19-year-old. "There’s no way we wouldn’t want you in the top 24 this year."

The Valrico competitor received a standing ovation from the judges following his soulful rendition of "I Know You Won't" by Carrie Underwood.
