Hit-And-Run Leaves Brandon Woman Dead
Sheriff's deputies are on the lookout for the Chrysler 300 vehicle involved in the late-night incident. Have you seen it?
A hit-and-run accident has left a 59-year-old Brandon pedestrian dead, and sheriff’s deputies are seeking the public's help in finding the vehicle involved.
The incident unfolded shortly after 11 p.m. Saturday (Oct. 5) in Brandon. According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, Shelley Ann Grimes, of Natrona Court in Brandon, was walking west across Providence Road within the crosswalk at Providence Ridge Boulevard.
“She was struck in the median through lane by an unknown Chrysler 300 vehicle, occupied by at least three people,” public information officer Debbie Carter said in a news release. “The vehicle did not stop, fleeing the scene south of Providence Road.”

There is no description of the occupants but the car lost its driver’s side mirror during the incident and will have damage to its hood and, likely, its windshield, too, authorities said.
