'Les Miserables' Opens, Movie Times and Trailer

Community theater veterans and musical aficionados have long awaited the big-screen adaptation of "Les Miserables." The wait is over, with these movie times at AMC The Regency 20 in Brandon.

 

"Les Miserables" at AMC The Regency 20 in Brandon is set to welcome Christmas Day movie-goers for a first look at the big-screen adaptation of the world-famous musical.

"My mother has said numerous times that all she wants for Christmas is to see 'Les Miz,' " wrote Kim Mitchell, in a Facebook post that answered the question:

"Les Miserables, yes, it's opening, yes, you know it, now let me know why your passion runs deep (or not). Comments might be used in an article. Community theater folks expecially invited to comment.

Mitchell, who recently completed a one-woman show with Plant City Entertainment, at the community theater troupe's theater on North Thomas Street, noted that her daughter, Olivia, recently sang a tune from the show at PCE's Best of Broadway spring production, directed by Domin Pazo.

"Olivia now LOVES the musical and dreams of playing Eponine," Mitchell noted. "I have always been a huge fan (the music is incredible), and I'd pay good money to watch Hugh Jackman sit on a toilet and eat fried chicken for three hours. So, needless to say, we will be seeing the movie."

On Christmas Day?

"Not on Christmas," Mitchell noted. "Probably the day after."
