Fairgoers Ready for St. Stephen's 11th Annual Spring Jubilee

The tents are up and carnival rides are in the process of being assembled for the 11th Annual Spring Jubilee at the St. Stephen Catholic School in the Greater Brandon community of Riverview.

The event kicks off its four-day run April 19, at 10428 Saint Stephen Circle, west of the Bell Shoals and Boyette roads intersection.

As in past years, this year's jubilee will feature a food tent with a variety of offerings, carnival games and thrill rides for jubilee-goers of every age.

St. Stephen parishioner Gene Batronie is the director of the Spring Jubilee for the second year. Last year, more than 25,000 people attended the event.

This year, attendees can purchase wristbands for the carnival rides for $16 in advance or $20 the day of the event. New this year is a Military Appreciation Day, with discounted armbands and food for service personnel.

Spring Jubilee Entertainment Includes:

• Live music by local bands Luna Blue and XChange B.
• The Mulrennan Middle School Jazz Band.
• A St. Stephen Idol show, April 19 at 7 p.m.
• The Candy Apples from Riverview High School, an entertainment revue.
• Performances by local dance and karate studios.

Spring Jubilee Events Include:

• A hotdog-eating contest, April 21, at 1 p.m.
• A Pirates Treasure hunt for kids, April 22 at 11 a.m., with prizes including tickets to Disney World.

Spring Jubilee Food Booths

Manned by parishioners, they include the following menu specialties:

• Barbecue
• Mexican
• N'awlins
• Philly cheesesteaks
• Beef O'Brady's
• Latin Flavor
• Fried desserts
• Dogs N' Fries

There also will be hand-squeezed lemonade, tea, sodas, beer and wine.

Spring Jubilee Raffle Drawing Prizes

Raffle tickets will be sold throughout the festival and will feature more than 60 prizes, including:

• A $2,500 cash prize.
• A 50-inch screen television.
• Passes to Sea World.
• A $500 gift certificate for a King Limousine ride.

• April 20, from 4 to 11 p.m.
• April 21,  from noon to 11 p.m.
• April 22, from noon to 8 p.m.
