The next Westfield Family Fun Day is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 10, in the food court, at Chick-fil-A.

The next Westfield Family Fun Day event at the Westfield Brandon shopping mall is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 10, at Chick-fil-A in the food court.

The WFamiliy "Anti-Bullying & Spirit Day" is set to kick off 4 p.m., featuring a special "Captain McFinn" program aimed "to educate and empower children about the issue of bullying," according to a Westfield Brandon post on Facebook.

Family Fun Day Details:

  • Captain McFinn helps young kids understand the issue of bullying. Activities include age-appropriate music, puppets and stories, and kids are invited to join the S.H.A.R.K. Patrol to pledge to be the best they can be! (The acronym stands for, "Students Help Achieve Respect and Kindess.")
  • Featured books: Click, Clack, Boo!: A Tricky Treat, by Doreen Cronin. Also, Splat the Cat: What Was That? by Rob Scotton.
  • Kids will "make a critter" and "personalize a halloween mask."
  • Snack: chocolate granola bars.

There is no charge to attend.
