Color for a Purpose: Kids Contest for Live Theater Passes at Center Place

The annual holiday coloring contest this year features a gingerbread house. The winning colorists in each of two age groups wins a Family Fun pass, good for four admissions to four live kids' theater shows at Center Place.

Game on at , where winners in each of two age groups will compete for a Family Fun pass to live children’s theater.

Beyond the competition, the aim is for a communal show-off of the creative and color-minded talents of the youth of Greater Brandon.

“We hang each entrant’s submission, for everybody to view at Center Place,” said Dawn Galia, the center’s executive director.

The categories, she added, are for ages 3 to 5 and for ages 6 to 8.

“The winner in each category gets a Family Fun pass, which includes four tickets to each of the following productions:

SHOW DATE TIME Santa's Holiday Revue Dec. 16 7 p.m. Schoolhouse Rock Jan. 27 7 p.m. The Velveteen Rabbit Feb. 10 7 p.m. The Ugly Duckling May 4 7 p.m.

The productions are brought to the stage by Stages Productions.

To enter the contest, pick up the outlined coloring sheet at the , which shares space with the Brandon Regional Library in the Sandy Rodriguez Center, at 619 Vonderburg Dr. in Brandon.

The deadline to enter is Dec. 12.

Winners will be selected Dec. 13.
