Deadline Nears For Artworks 2013 Entries

Interested artists must submit their entries by July 26.

Artists wishing to enter the Brandon League of Fine Arts' Artworks 2013 show have until July 26 to submit works of art. 

The show is open to all area artists who wish to submit original art that has been completed since September 2010. The show is juried and judged with more than $1,000 in prize money available.

Both traditional two- and three-dimensional work in mediums such as fiber, ceramics, metal, jewelry, glass and wood will be considered. Two-dimensional work must be framed and wired for hanging. Three-dimensional work must not exceed 18 inches high, 10 inches wide and 12 inches in diameter and not weigh more than 3 pounds.

Email entries are preferred and should be sent to chairwoman Elizabeth Kershaw at elizabethkershaw@earthlink.net.

The chosen artwork will be on display in the Mook Gallery at Center Place of Brandon during the month of September. A reception and awards ceremony will take place on Saturday, Sept. 14 from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

The judge for Artworks 2013 is Christine Reichow, an award-winning watercolor artist who work is exhibited throughout the Eastern United States. 

Artworks 2013 will highlight The Gallery Hop in which residents are invited to "hop" around the greater Brandon area to view the works of local artists.
