Smithsonian Free Museum Day, Many Area Museums

In the spirit of Smithsonian Museums, who offer free admission everyday, Museum Day is an annual event hosted by Smithsonian magazine. Participating museums across the country, including many in the Tampa Bay area, will open their doors to anyone presenting a Museum Day Ticket...for free.


Only an official Museum Day ticket is eligible for free entry. Official tickets can be found on the Museum Day website: www.smithsonianmag.com/museumday/ticket.
 Local museums participating include:

The Henry B. Plant Museum, www.plantmuseum.com, Tampa;
The Morean Arts Center, www.moreanartscenter.org, St. Petersburg;
The Museum of Fine Arts of St. Petersburg, www.fine-arts.org, St. Petersburg;
The St. Petersburg Museum of History, www.spmoh.org/home.html, St. Petersburg;
The Tampa Bay History Center, www.tampabayhistorycenter.org, Tampa;
The Tampa Museum of Art, www.tampamuseum.org, Tampa;
The Florida Museum of Photographic Arts, www.fmopa.org, Tampa;
The Pier Aquarium, www.pieraquarium.org, St. Petersburg

One ticket per household, for two people.
A ticket will gain entry to only one of the participating museums, excluding parking and special events and exhibits.
If museum reaches capacity, officials have the right to limit the number of guests until space becomes available.
