“It’s the annual student high school art show and all the high schools in Hillsborough County are able to participate,” said Center Place Executive Director Dawn Galia. “The show is sponsored by the Brandon Service League and more than $500 in prizes will be awarded.”

Galia said the show by definition, because it involves teenagers, draws upon emotions.

“The high school students always come through with a really good show,” she said. “I do like, too, that they talk about why they made a particular piece.”

Each work posted includes a placard that talks about the artist’s motive.

“They talk about what inspired them to create that particular piece,” Galia said. “We don’t have that will all of our [monthly] shows.”

People viewing the art work, Galia added, “can see what inspired the students to create what they did.”
