The show, featuring the comedic highlights of a tested friendship between the divorced Oscar Madison (Randy Magruder), a slob, and the divorcing Felix Ungar (Dave Friedman), a neat freak, premiered on Broadway in 1965, followed by both a successful television and film series.

In his program notes, Siverling gives notice to Corey Wade, who built "almost the entire set," and to Clint Shepherd and Maurice Cecchini, "for making our set wht it is today by providing the pieces to build it."

Community theater is, indeed, a community affair, as well as a family affair, as evidenced by Magruder's turn on stage alongside his wife, Tracey, who plays the role of Gwendolyn Pigeon.

Rounding out the cast are Mollie Anderson (Cecily Pigeon), Joe Osborn (Vinnie), Tim Dionne (Roy), Tom Guerre (Murray) and Buzz Van Dyke (Speed).

Backstage, Wade is credited with set construction and lighting and sound. Cecchini, with set scenery. Tracey Magruder, with programs. And Keith Holmes, with stage management.

Siverling also paid tribute to his cast, thanking them for their "patience and endurance" and for giving "all of yourselves to this truly remarkable show."

The James McCabe Theater is at 506 Fifth St. in Valrico.

Tickets to the show cost $12 for general admission and $10 for seniors, students and military.
