Matinee Curtain for Frenzie's 'Xandadu' Rises 4 p.m. Aug. 5 at Riverview High
The Frenzie Performing Arts Factory is on stage with "Xanadu" at Riverview High School for three more shows, including a matinee today, Aug. 5, at 4 p.m.
On stage in August at the Riverview High School auditorium is the cast of The Frenzie, with a production of Xanadu, a musical comedy about a Greek muse, Clio, who descends from Mt. Olympus to California's Venice Beach to inpsire a struggling artist.
The musical, directed by Pedro Amarl, is based on the 1980 cult classic film of the same name, featuring Olivia Newton John, Gene Kelley and Michael Beck. That film, in turn, was inpsired by a 1947 film, Down to Earth, starring Rita Hayworth.

The Aug. 5 showing is the only matinee, with curtain time at 4 p.m. Remaining show dates after that are Aug. 9 and 11 at 8 p.m.
Riverview High School is at 13111 Boyette Road in Riverview.
