ON NOW: Artist Trunk Sale at Center Place, With Creative Native Gallery

The Creative Native Gallery is closed for renovations but open for business today, July 17, through 5 p.m. at the Center Place Fine Arts & Civic Association in Brandon.

Local artists are on hand at the area’s oldest civic and cultural center and at the same time helping one of the area’s newest and sole-purpose art galleries promote its offerings.

The event runs through 5 p.m. at the Center Place Fine Arts & Civic Association, which shares space in the Sandy Rodriguez Center with the Brandon Regional Library, at 619 Vonderburg Drive in Brandon.

“We have bascially brought half of the gallery here today,” said Pam Moody, the organizer of the Artist Trunk Sale, as the event is called, and owner of the Creative Native Gallery, which the trunk benefits.

“It’s very tough out there today for artists and I’m glad to have a chance to have the show here today,” said Moody, whose gallery on Falkenburg Road is currently closed for renovations.

The show includes many forms of art, from paintings to glass work to jewelry.
