And This Year's Applause Awards Go To . . .

Plant City Entertainment hosted the community theater troupe's 27th Annual Applause Awards, with "Don't Tell Mother" and "The Red Velvet Cake War" highly recognized. Also given, the President's Award and the Brad Behan

 

Another event in the community theater awards season took place Sept. 29 with the 27th Annual Applause Awards Banquet in Plant City, with thespian Tyler Hollis serving as the master of ceremonies.

The awards given were based on the Plant City Entertainment compny's community 2011-12 season. The event was held at the Plant City Entertainment Theater at 101 North Thomas Street in Plant City.

Taking home the top number of awards, with four, was The Red Velvet Cake War, followed closely by Don't Tell Mother, which received three Applause Awards. (See chart below.)

The event featured as well a sneak preview of the troupe's upcoming production of Jesus Christ Superstar, directed by Domin Pazo and starring Oliver Sprague in the title role.
