'Date Night' Dinner Show Musical Revue

"Creme de la Creme" is the latest musical revue from Star Productions, directed and assistant by Al Cohen and Arlene Jacobs, respectively. The dinner show in Plant City is at the Brick House, May 4 and 5.

 

Star Productions is back on stage this weekend, May 4 and 5, with "Creme de la Creme," a musical revue featuring a cast of four performers singing top tunes from four decades.

On stage at the Brick House Cafe in Plant City, the production "promises to be a great date night, with a good mix of romantic and upbeat numbers," said Arlene Jacbos, the show's assistant director.

From the '40s, songs include "Que Sera, Sera (Whatever Will Be, Will Be)" and "The Last Time I Saw Paris." Songs from the '50s include "It Might as Well Be Spring" and "That's Amore." From the '60s, "Can't Take My Eyes Off of You" and "Crazy." From the '70s, "Candy Man" and "Blue Bayou."

The director of the show is Al Cohen, who with Jacobs has staged five shows with Star Productions, all musical revues, including the show this weekend.

Starring in the production are Jessica Jacobs and Alecsa Kazenas, students at the arts magnet program at Blake High School; Andy Tekampe, a Newsome graduate and student at the Ybor campus of Hillsborough Community College;  and Cherri Tysver, a professional singer.

The Brick House Cafe is at 113 West Prosser Dr. in Plant City, next to the Big Lots anchored shopping center on James Redman Parkway. Dinner is at 6:30 p.m., with the show starting at 8.

Tickets cost $22, which includes both the dinner and the show.
