Village Players Audition for 'Annie' as Frenzie Starts 'Cabaret' Rehearsals

Auditions for the Village Players production of “Annie” get under way 7 p.m. tonight, Sept. 12, at the James McCabe Theater in the Greater Brandon area of Valrico.

 Meanwhile, the cast of The Frenzie – Life Theatre production of “Cabaret” begins its rehearsals tonight, also in Greater Brandon. The show, directed and musical directed by Michael Mercer, sports a cast of 17 (see list below). 

Directed by Domin Pazo, “Annie” features key parts for young girls, most notably, for Annie herself, which is being cast with a female between the ages 8 and 13.

Cast hopefuls are asked to come prepared to sing a one-minute song – but not a song from the production itself. Also, there will be cold readings from the script.

The roles of the orphans will be double-cast, meaning for each role there will be two selections.

Audition dates are Sept. 12 and 13 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the James McCabe Theater, at 506 Fifth Street in Valrico. Show dates are Dec. 2-3, 9, 10-11 and 16-17.
