White House Photographer To Host Presentation, Book Signing

Eric Draper is the longest-serving chief White House photographer and documented two full terms of the presidency of George W. Bush.

Eric Draper, the longest-serving chief White House photographer and the first to document two full presidential terms, will be the guest speaker at a Hillsborough County Republican Club event Thursday, July 25 at the Museum of Science & Industry, 4801 E. Fowler Ave., Tampa. 

The evening begins at 6:30 p.m. with hors d'oeuvres and a cash bar and continues at 7:30 with Draper's presentation and a book signing.

Draper covered George W. Bush for the entire eight years of his presidency. He was also named special assistant to the president. During his tenure, Draper directed the photographic and archival conversion of the White House Photo Office from film to digital.

Prior to joining the White House, he was west regional enterprise photographer for the Associated Press and also worked as a staff photographer for the Seattle Times, Pasadena Star-News and Albuquerque Tribune.

His book, Front Row Seat, is a photographic retrospective of the Bush White House years. Copies of the book will be available for sale at the event.
