Brandon Bank Promotes 'Plaza Bella Goes Pink' Event

The fifth annual "Plaza Bella Goes Pink" walk and event is being promoted by USAmeriBank on its sign at the corner of one of Brandon's most busiest intersections. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

 

USAmeriBank in Brandon often uses its marquee sign at the corner of one of Brandon's busiest intersection to promote local events and community undertakings.

Such is the case for the fifth annual "Plaza Bella Goes Pink" event that is currently being promoted on the sign, at Kings Avenue and Oakfield Drive. It reads:

This neighborly promotion from one Greater Brandon business to another highlights the enthusiasm building for this year's October Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Here are the details for joining the merchants "going pink" at Plaza Bella in Valrico, at the corner of Bell Shoals Road and Bloomingdale Avenue, on Oct. 20:

  • Plaza Bella Goes Pink to support breast cancer research and the patients who are affected by breast cancer.
  • This year's walk is dedicated to Antoinette Cuellar, who died in May after a battle with breast cancer. Cuellar was the spokeswoman for the walk for two years.
  • Registration begins at 8 a.m. and the walk will begin an hour later. The first 300 people to register will receive a goodie bag.
  • Participants can register at The Green Boutique or Orange Home Accessories.
  • The registration fee is $35. Residents also can donate $5 for a pink ribbon in honor of a loved one. Bows will be displayed on the Pink Ribbon Pathway during the day of the Plaza Bella Goes Pink walk.
  • Participants can choose to walk the 5K Challenge or the shorter Diva Strut.
  • Walkers are welcome to dress up in costumes or pink clothing.
  • The event also will feature music and refreshments.
  • Money raised will go to the Vera Bradley Foundation for breast cancer research and the American Cancer Society.
