4 Days Left To Nominate Top Small Businesses in Brandon

For the 31st time, the Greater Brandon Chamber of Commerce will be distributing Small Business of the Year Awards in recognition of business people who have “exemplified leadership and positive growth and development” in operations as well as a “true commitment to community service."

What small businesses will be recognized as the best in Brandon, at a Greater Brandon Chamber of Commerce gala in October? That depends on which businesses are nominated by July 9.

That’s the deadline for nominations in five categories:

• Small businesses with one to five employees
• Small businesses with six to 15 employees
• Small businesses with at least 16 employees
• Home-based businesses
• Businesses owned by minorities or women

Anonymous and self-nominations are acceptable for the awards program that recognizes and honors small businesses “that have demonstrated leadership, positive growth and development, creativity and integrity in operating a business, as well as a commitment to community services.

Here’s what you need to know:

• Nominations will be accepted until 5 p.m. July 9.
• Nominees are encouraged to attend a nominee coffee on July 12.
• The Small Business of the Year Awards presentation is scheduled for Oct. 18.
