5 Reasons To ‘Sip & Dip’ at Cork & Olive Tonight (June 28)

A sign at the Brandon Crossroads shopping center off Badlands Drive and Providence Road announces for wine lovers the June 28 "Sip & Dip" social event at Cork & Olive.

Jane Studstill was busy today at her Cork & Olive business at the Brandon Crossroads shopping center, prepping for tonight's "Sip & Dip" social gathering for those in the market for a new taste of wine.

So, why part with $7.50 for a wine glass and five taste tickets, at the June 28 event that runs from 6 to 9 p.m., at 2086 Badlands Drive? (Additional taste tickets offered for a nominal price.)

Here's five reasons offered by Studstill, who said she has owned and operated the Brandon Cork & Olive for almost a year:

  1. Walk out with a wine that you really like, rather than one you haven't tasted.
  2. Learn more about the featured wines, including sampling foods that pair well with them. Vendors on hand will discuss each of their wine samples and the associated vineyards and grapes. Each vendor has four or five different wines to taste.
  3. Sample wines from throughout the world, "wines you wouldn't ordinarily find in other stores," Studstill said.
  4. Sample, with dipping breads, olive oils and spices from Argentina, Greece, Italy, Morocco, Spain and Tunisia.
  5. Meet and socialize with other wine lovers and those looking to learn more about the art of wine-making and wine tasting. "It's a great social event for wine lovers and we get new people all the time," Studstill said.
