Borders Closing Sale Ups the Ante to 30 to 50 Percent Off

A victim of the changing times and dour economy, the Borders in Brandon is one of some 200 locations closing nationwide. Both stores on Dale Mabry Highway to close as well.

The “Store Closing Sale” at Brandon’s continues. The savings have grown and are available only at stores that are closing, including the one at 2020 Brandon Town Center Blvd., nestled between Providence Road and the entrance to the Westfield Brandon shopping mall.

Here’s five things you need to know now about the Borders sale at Brandon, and also at the two stores closing on Dale Mabry Highway:

  1. Starting today, March 11, closing-sales savings have been upped to 30 to 50 percent off the entire stock. All stock is included, “no exclusions, no exceptions.” Savings on books, CD’s, DVD’s and more, according to the latest ad announcement.
  2. Purchases will earn “Borders Bucks” and “Borders Reward Plus” members save even more.
  3. Also on sale: store fixtures and equipment.
  4. Borders cashiers will accept VISA, Mastercard, American Express and Discover. No checks, though, and no coupons.
  5. All sales are final and no adjustments to prior purchases.

It was that the Borders in Brandon,, and the two on Dale Mabry Highway would be among the 200 or so stores that would be closing nationwide as the bookstore chain seeks Chapter 11 bankruptcy reorganization. The Brandon store is slated to close by the end of April.
