Brandon Regional Hopsital's New CEO is Bland Eng

The Hospital Corporation of American (HCA) names Bland Eng the successor to Mike Fencel as CEO of Brandon Regional Hospital.

 

Taking over the top administrative position at Brandon Regional Hosptial is Bland Eng, who succeeds Mike Fencel as CEO.

Eng comes to Brandon from Palms West Hospital in East Florida, where he is credited with “expanding and growing that facility for the past five years,” according to a news report from Brandon Regional Hospital.

Both hospitals are part of Hosptial Corporation of America. Based in Nashville, HCA owns and operates about 164 hospitals and about 106 freestanding surgery centers in 20 states and in London.

Fencel left his job in December, taking a job with Health Management Associates, as CEO of its North Florida Division, which includes 11 affiliated hospitals in North Florida.

Eng reportedly has been with HCA in Florida for 17 years. Prior to West Palms Hospital, Eng held positions as chief executive officer of Lake City Medical Center and chief operating officer of Central Florida Regional Hospital and Putnam Community Hospital.

Eng has a Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics and English from the University of Maryland and both a Master of Business Administration and Master of Healthcare Sciences from the University of Florida.

Eng is married and has two children and reportedly will be relocating to Brandon at the end of the school year.
