Chamber Deadline for Best Small Businesses Nears
Nominations for the 2012 Small Business of the Year awards are due July 9. The Greater Brandon Chamber of Commerce awards are given in five categories, at an awards gala for the nominees in October.
What small businesses will be recognized as the best at a Greater Brandon Chamber of Commerce gala in October? That depends on which businesses are nominated by July 9.
That’s the deadline for nominations in five categories:

- Small businesses with one to five employees
- Small businesses with six to 15 employees
- Small businesses with at least 16 employees
- Home-based businesses
- Businesses owned by minorities or women
Anonymous and self-nominations are acceptable for the awards program that recognizes and honors small businesses “that have demonstrated leadership, positive growth and development, creativity and integrity in operating a business, as well as a commitment to community services.

- Nominations will be accepted until 5 p.m. July 9.
- Nominees are encouraged to attend a nominee coffee on July 12.
- The Small Business of the Year Awards presentation is scheduled for Oct. 18.
