Day Trip To Channelside: Free Parking Enticement

Billed as a "new day at Channelside Bay Plaza," the free-parking option is for a limited time and comes with some restrictions.

Looking for a night out in Tampa? If you're narrowing down your list of choices, you might want to consider the free parking option for Channelside Bay Plaza patrons, now through Jan. 2, 2014.

According to a Tampa Port Authority news release, the authority is offering free parking for visitors to the plaza's retail shops and restaurants.

From Sept. 13 through Jan. 2, 2014, the Tampa Port Authority will offer patrons of the plaza free parking at its surface lot on Garrison Street, adjacent to the plaza.

The free parking will be available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, with the
exception of evenings designated as event nights. Overnight parking will
continue to be prohibited.

"It's a new day at Channelside Bay Plaza, and we very much want to show our
support to our partners and tenants of the complex, as well as provide visitors with added value to thank them for supporting the fine establishments at Channelside," said Paul Anderson, port president and CEO.

In addition to being a U.S. top 10 cruise homeport, the Port of Tampa is one
of the nation's largest and most cargo-diverse seaports. The port handles a
full array of cargoes, from building materials to petroleum products, for the
entire west/central Florida region.
