Dinner Done Set To Close July 30 at Brandon Crossroads Retail Center

Dinner Done is set to close its doors in Brandon in July 31, adding to the vacant retail space at Brandon Crossroads. Recent closures include Old Chicago and the neighboring Borders bookstore.

The kitchen is closing at Dinner Done, a specialty food store at the Brandon Crossroads shopping center, where customers prepared their own meals to heat up at home.

“Our lease was up and with the economic uncertainty and increases in the price of food it just made sense to bring everything back to a central location,” said owner Audra Nasser, who also owns Dinner Done in Carrollwood, in an interview July 27. “We work hard to maintain low prices and we are known for reasonable prices and quality so it made sense."

The Brandon location, at 2060 Badlands Drive, between Providence Road and the Brandon Parkway, closes with the last "To-Go" pickups and "Grab & Go" purchases July 30.

The Brandon store delivered to more than 100 customers in the Greater Brandon area every month, Nasser said. Dinner Done also held hundreds of cooking preparation classes monthly in Brandon.

“Brandon has been a really good place for us and we are sorry to leave,” she said.

Nasser said much of the staff at the Brandon store would be relocating to the business in Carrollwood and that Brandon customers were offered discounts to visit the Carrollwood store, at 10330 North Dale Mabry Highway.

Customers can prepare meals in the Carrollwood kitchen and receive a $15 certificate to use toward a “Grab & Go” purchase or to apply toward a future Dinner Done session.

The store also will continue to offer a monthly free delivery to Brandon-area addresses. Brandon delivery orders can be placed online.

The offer is valid for all Carrollwood kitchen sessions through Dec. 31.

Gift certificates and “SuperChef" certificates are valid at the Carrollwood location.

Earlier closings at the Brandon Crossroads shopping center, most notably Old Chicago and the adjacent Borders bookstore, had nothing to do with Nasser’s decision to leave Brandon.

“It was a totally internal decision,” she said.

And, in an email to Brandon customers July 26, she added: “We truly appreciate your support over the years."
