DJ To Spin ‘End of the World Songs’ at O’Brien’s End of the World Party

The "festive farewell party for planet earth" is set to begin 11 p.m. tonight, Dec. 20, at O'Brien's Irish Pub and Family Restaurant in Brandon. The event runs into Dec. 21, 2012, which doomsday fanatics have put forward as the date of the apocalypse.

"Some people believe it and some don't," reads the O'Brien's Irish Pub and Family Restaurant Facebook page announcement for its End of the World Party. "Either way we are going to party it up at Brandon O'Brien's."

The festivities at O'Brien's are set to begin Thursday, Dec. 20, at 11 p.m., with DJ Grimey set to spin some "end of the world songs."

Billed as a "festive farewell party for planet earth (and everyone we've ever known)," the party either "ends at midnight when the world ends" or proceeds until 3 a.m., according to the Facebook announcement.

Could be "the end of the world (as we know it)," as noted by the O'Brien's post. Regardless, here's what's on tap at the pub in Brandon, at the corner of Lumsden Road and Kings Avenue (701 West Lumsden Road):

  • Drink specials all night.
  • A shot toast at 12:04 a.m., "to celebrate the world still being here."

(One would hope.)
