Five-Star Chamber Hosts Brandon Membership at Annual Dinner (Photos)

The Greater Brandon Chamber of Commerce held its annual membership dinner at HCC at The Regent. The event paid tribute to the year that was and took stock of what awaits in 2012.

Some 300 people gathered to watch Melissa Snively, now the immediate past chair of the Greater Brandon Chamber of Commerce, hand over the baton to Bob Bivins, the not-for-profit chamber's newly seated chair.

Darren Dennington is the chair-elect.

The following awards were presented at the Feb. 3 membership dinner at HCC at the Regent:

  • Becky Jordan, the 2010 Key Citizen of the Year, presented the 2011 award to Tammy Holmberg.
  • Hillsborough County Supervisor of Elections Earl J. Lennard, the former superintendent of schools, presented the 2011 Leadership Award to Attorney General Pam Bondi, who could not be in attendance but accepted it with a video presentation.
  • The Brando chamber's 2011 Ambassador of the Year is Charles Shenning.
  • Snively gave to Jeff Campbell the 2011 Chairman's Award for his help throughout her one-year term.

Also at the dinner, Moore Hallmark, of the United State Chamber of Commerce, presented to the Brandon chamber a plaque signifying the group's second attainment of a five-star rating.
