Heart-Shaped Food, Spa Delights and More for Valentine's Day

The romantics have it in the Greater Brandon area today, with Valentine’s Day specials that get to the heart of the matter.

Here’s a sampling of local offerings:

• Valentine’s Gift Cards at Divine Designs Spa and Salon in Brandon. Orders accepted online. Get from 5 percent off ($100 to $199) to 20 percent off ($500 or more). The spa's "love by chocolate" special includes a 50-minute stone massage, a 60-minute Eminence Organics Hydrating Body Wrap and a 75-minute Eminence Organics Pedicure. Cost: $285. Use the Valentine's Day gift card and save 10 percent. Also, all salon clients on Valentine's Day receive a complimentary L'Oreal Powerdose Intensive Conditioning Treatment (a $20 value).

• The heart-shaped pizza at Formaggio's Italian Restaurant (Lithia) and Pizzeria Express (Valrico) is back. For carryout orders only, there is a special price for $7.77, which includes an option of pepperoni topping only. No pre-order necessary. To get a specialy pie shaped like a heart, then you do need to pre-order, by 3 p.m. Also, at the Formaggio's restaurant, a dine-in special for couples. For $39.99, get one appetizer, two entrees, 2 drinks (includes beer and wine) and one dessert (tiramisu or cannoli).

• Participating Chick-fil-A restaurants are serving heart-shaped biscuits for Valentine's Day. Breakfast is served through 10:30 a.m. There is a Chick-fil-A in Brandon/Valrico, at 1504 East Brandon Blvd., and at Lake Brandon Village, at 11325 Causeway Blvd.
