Lightning: Local Hockey Teams, Skaters To Get Ice at Tampa Bay Times Forum
Tampa Bay Lightning officials announce that ice will be laid this week at the Tampa Bay Times Forum for community initiatives, including youth, club and high school hockey programs. Season ticket holders and key partners will benefit as well.
Community inititiatives, including youth and high school hockey, will benefit from the ice scheduled to be installed this week at the Tama Bay Times Forum, according to a Tampa Bay Lightning news report.
Groups scheduled to practice at the arena are teams from throughout the Tampa Bay area, including at the Ice Sports Forum in Brandon, at 10222 Elizabeth Place, off Falkenburg Road, north of Adamo Drive (State Road 60). The Ice Sports Forum in Brandon serves also as the official training facility of the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Other groups expected to take advantage of the ice include teams from Bloomingdale, Durant and Newsome high schools. (For full list, see chart below.)
Ice installation is set to begin Sept. 27 at 5 a.m. About three hours later, after the base coat of ice is laid, it will be painted white. Hockey markings at around 10 a.m. will be painted on the ice, then cemented with another layer of ice.
