Nature Theme at Westfield Brandon Family Fun Day Today

The Westfield Brandon Family Fun Day in April features seasonal stories, snacks and crafts at Books-a-Million, plus a $5 gift certificate for the first 100 parents.

 

The next Westfield Family Fun Day event at the Westfield Brandon shopping mall is scheduled for today, Sunday, April 7, at Books-a-Million, just north of the Restaurant Courtyard.

The WFamiliy Fun Day is set to kick off 1 p.m. and features stories pegged to spring and nature, according to a Westfield Brandon post on Facebook.

The spring season will be celebrated with two stories about nature. Also for children, hands-on crafts and a tasty snack. Plus, for "mom and dad," a "free $5 Books-a-Million gift card."

  • Celebrate nature with the reading of an My Garden, by kevin Henkes, "featuring a young girl who imagines chocolate rabbits, tomatoes as big as beach balls, and flosers that change colors."
  • Next, the reading of From Caterpillar to Butterfly, by Deborah Heiligman, which "teaches kids all about this mysterious metamorphosis."
  • Also, Kids will meet and greet with Ladybug Girl from the Ladybug Girl book series.

Kids also will have a snack and decorate, with paper flowers and insects, springtime headbands they can wear.

There is no charge to attend.

Gift cards will be given away at the end of the event, one gift card per adult for the first 100 parents. Some restrictions may apply; while supplies last.
