New And Old Tastes At Sumatra Bistro In Brandon

Sumatra Bistro welcomes new chef Aubrey Greenhill as outgoing chef Michael Wahl cooks up one last round of his "star" menu items.

It's a changing of the guard at Sumatra Bistro, where new chef Aubrey Greenhill will be cooking and meeting customers this weekend while outgoing  chef Michael Wahl will be cooking up one last round of his "star" menu items.

That's the word Aug. 23 on Sumatra Bistro's Facebook post, which notes that Wahl's "star" menu items include "Chocolate Espresso Beef, Crab and Shrimp Stuffed Flounder, Vegetarian Enchiladas, and Chicken Saltimbocca."

Noted as well is that Wahl will be moving out of the area at the end of the month.

Bistro dinners are served Fridays and Saturdays from 5 to 9 p.m.; the weekend menu is featured on the restaurant's Facebook page every Friday morning.

"Our dinner menu is generally a variety of meat and vegetarian choices based on the availability of market fresh items," a bistro menu alert notes. "We serve select beer and wines but you're more than welcome to bring your own favorite bottle for a minimum corkage fee."
