Chicks for Charities was founded by Tammy Holmberg, a past president of Center Place and a past honorary mayor of Brandon, who owns the Chick-fil-A at Lake Brandon Village with her husband, Paul.

There are no dues or meetings for the club, which instead focuses on raising money for charitable causes by staging special events and an annual cruise for chicks. The "ladies-only" cruise in 2010 raised money for children's programming at Center Place. The cruise in 2011 raised money for the Y's Build Strong Kids campaign. This year's cruise raised money for A Kid's Place in Brandon.

The Fourth Annual Chicks for Charity Cruise, a four-night trip to Mexico, is scheduled to launch April 18, 2013. The benefitting charity is Center Place. For information, call Dorie Davis at 813-681-5761, ext. 2233.
