Vacant Store Outside AMC The Regency 20: What's Your Druthers?

Out of business in Brandon, next door to a heavily trafficked Brandon entertainment location, in one of Brandon's largest shopping centers is this vacant space. Care to take a guess?

That's the question posted July 29 at the Brandon Patch Facebook page, and responses came in both hot and cold.

"Looks like Kings and Lumsden by O'Brien's," wrote David Mallary, noting O'Brien's Irish Pub and Family Restaurant, in the shopping center at the corner of Lumsden Road and Kings Avenue.

That's where , an indoor arena of gigantic inflatables, is in business for kids fun and parties, which would qualify it as being an "entertainment location."

But, no, that is not where this shot was taken.

"I want to say it's somewhere near AMC 20," wrote Jenna Shull.

"Wait, it may be that little soap shop in the breezeway between the shopping plaza and the AMC," noted Irma Davila.

Bingo, but not quite.

The Sugar Boutique Soap and Candle Bakery at the Regency Square shopping center in Brandon has recently closed, and that, indeed, is news to many Brandon residents.

But the snapshot in question was taken west of that store, to the east of the entrance into the AMC The Regency 20 movie theater, where once stood an ice cream store.

Now closed, what would you like to see there, as both a before- and after the-movies destination spot?
