Westfield Brandon Features 'Sesame Street Safari of Fun' Play Area

Newly opened in the newest wing at the Westfield Brandon shopping mall is a 1,200- square-foot play area, near Gymboree, likened after the "Sesame Street Safari of Fun" at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay.

From Big Bird to Zoe, the characters of Sesame Street are on dispaly at the Westfield Brandon shopping mall, where this month a grand opening celebration was held to celebrate a new play area themed after the Sesame Street Safari of Fun at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay.

The 1,200-square-foot play area is located in the mall's newest wing, near Gymboree. The play area, as officially described, features "an iconic 16-foot-tall treehouse with favorite Sesame Street friends in their safari attire and beneath several African animals to climb on, play with and explore."

The new play space is in addition to the Westfield Playtown area outside the Sears anchor, where — including play cars and a turtle — at the ideal height for small kids to climb over and sit upon.

Dawn Arvidson at the time noted that Westfield implements family community centers in about 50 percent of it malls. The decision to outfit Westfield Brandon with family focused amenities was a no-brainer.

“Brandon is very family oriented, lots of kids,” said Arvidson, the mall’s marketing director.  “So obviously the play space is very important to us.”

“more comfortable and enjoyable for parents.”
