A Walk To Remember at the Plant City Relay For Life (PHOTOS)

The Relay For Life at Plant City High School, with its 83 teams and some 1,000 participants, provided a fitting climax to the 2012 season of American Cancer Society overnight fundraisers in Southeastern Hillsborough County.

 

These photos are from the 2012 Relay For Life of Plant City, held at Plant City High School on April 20-21.

The event was the last of seven relays held in Southeastern Hillsborough County.

— at Armwood, Bloomingdale, Brandon, Lennard, Newsome and Riverview high schools — shows that more than $633,500 had been raised to date, according to figures obtained from the American Cancer Society unit office on Oakfield Drive in Brandon.

The Plant City Relay For Life, perennially one of the state's largest, had a fundraising goal of $274,000, according to long-time supporter and advocate Barbara Franques. The event in 2011 raised just over $271,258, according to the American Cancer Society.
