AAA, Taxi Services To Call For a Safe Ride Home St. Patrick’s Day

St. Patrick’s Day revelers, from March 17 to 20, planning for a night of celebration should plan also for a safe ride home.

Should things get out hand, and the designated driver not available, avoid driving drunk with a call to AAA's 'Tow To Go' program, which will tow revelers home even if they aren’t enrolled.

The service, run by AAA Auto Club South in partnership with Budweiser, is a free — and confidential — service for members and non-members alike. Call: 1-800-222-4357 (AAA-HELP).

The AAA notes on its Web site that since 1998, "Tow To Go has removed 11,650 drunk drivers from the roads."

The service is offered  Thanksgiving Day through Jan. 2 and on other holidays and events throughout the coming year, including: Super Bowl (Feb. 4-6), St. Patrick's Day (March 17-20); Cinco de Mayo (May 5-6), Memorial Day (May 27-30); Independence Day (July 1-5); Labor Day (Sept. 2-5); Halloween (Oct. 28-31); and Thanksgiving to New Year's Day (Nov. 24 through Jan. 2).

Revelers at area eateries and bars might inquire, too, if the owners provide a free ride home for patrons who are too impaired to drive.
