  • Family and friends mourn for Tyler Stich, 17, a South County Career Center student who died in a crash on South Kings Avenue, near Coppertree Circle, when the sport-utility vehicle he was riding in overturned. A stands by the roadside, where soft sand reportedly played a role in the accident that involved six teens and a young boy. Reportedly they had only minor injuries.

  • The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office held its quarterly awards ceremony, for the second quarter of 2012, at the Jail Assembly Room on North Falkenburg Road. Among the awards presented were for the two employees who oversee the at the Orient Road and Falkenburg Road jails, which collectively raised some $7,600 for A Kid’s Place. The awards also spotlighted , which aimed to attract 6,000 wanted individuals with the promise of unclaimed property and money. As a result, 76 arrests spelled success and netted recognition for two employees.

  • A member of the Class of 2012 from Armwood High School won a the second semester of her just-ended senior year.   • Sheriff’s deputies were busy in Greater Brandon, on the scene at an apparent , at a apartment complex and at a involving males in a car and attendees at a party in Dover, which sent one driver to the hospital with grave injuries. Investigators believe the shooting was gang-related.
