Large numbers of people gathered in many ways this week in Greater Brandon thanks to the start of the 2011 Relay For Life season in Hillsborough County, the information meeting for a charter school in Winthrop, the Benefit Bull Ride for Brooke Ann Coats, Chili Fest 2011, the “Together For Hope” LifeCare of Brandon ladies spring tea and the opening night for the six-show, two-weekend run of “The Rocky Horror Show.”

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office cracked down on illegal firearms and released an online “crime mapping” tool that allows for the creation of a do-it-yourself crime blotter, based on areas that matter most to you.

Brandon Patch, with its sister Patches, launched a weekday PatchCast highlighting events and happenings throughout the Tampa Bay Area. This week’s videos included a look at the 2011 Bay Area Renaissance Festival, which runs through April 17. We offered also 15 tips for planning your day there.
