County Seeking Canoe, Kayak, Safety Gear Sponsors For Park System
Sponsors will receive free advertising at canoe launch areas, or advertising itself on canoes and kayaks, as the Hillsborough County Parks, Recreation and Conservation Department continues to seek ways to meet budget shortfalls.
The Hillsborough County Parks, Recreation and Conservation Department seeks sponsors to provide new and replacement canoes, kayaks, paddles and life vests.
Sponsors will receive free advertising at canoe launch areas within the regional park System. A sponsor’s advertising message could appear on the canoe or kayak. Or on signs or in promotions materials posted and displayed at the launch areas.
Canoes and kayaks are rented at E.G. Simmons Park, in Ruskin; Lettuce Lake Park, in Tampa; Lake Park, in Lutz; and Upper Tampa Bay Park.

The sponsorship program is a small part of the department’s overall effort to overcome a . As part of that effort, the county is considering mothballing the majority of its recreation centers, laying off parks department employees and eliminating its after-school care program.
