Get Out: Weekend Events for Brandon
A production of 'West Side Story,' yard sale and a class in French wine are all on tap this weekend, July 8-10, in the Greater Brandon area.
Life in the Greater Brandon community gets under way this weekend with Mad With Power, rocking at J.F. Kicks. The homegrown band of Greater Brandon area musicians heralds in a weekend that includes as well a book sale to benefit an area church, an art class for kids, a wine class for adults, a yard sale to benefit a food bank, a drive to replenish blood banks and a youth community theater presentation of “West Side Story."

MAD WITH POWER

- Where/When: 9:30 p.m.-1:30 a.m., July 8 and 9, J.F. Kick's Neighborhood Bar and Grill, 3345 Lithia-Pinecrest Road, Valrico.
- Why Go: Classic rock makes the playlist but so, too, songs from the past three decades for Mad With Power, a band of hometown musicians spanning four decades in age. All-you-can-eat fish and chips on Friday and a variety of appetizers including oysters on the half shell, crab cakes and baked brie en croute Saturday.
